Sussex County 5 Year Old – 1st Pediatric Flu Case in DE – 6th Overall

A 5 year old from Sussex County is the first lab-confirmed case of pediatric flu in Delaware’s new flu season. This is the 6th overall case of the flu this season – with 2 cases in adults in New Castle County and 3 cases in adults in Kent County. Delaware Public Health officials urge everyone 6 months of age and older to get vaccinated. Last flu season over 9000 flu cases were recorded with over 1200 people hospitalized. 35 people died from flu complications last season.
