Sussex Central Student Charged after Fight in School

A fight between two Sussex Central students Wednesday morning resulted in two school officials being punched. Delaware State Police tell WGMD that a 17 year old and 16 year old were fighting and the school principal tried to break up the fight and was struck in the face by the 17 year old. The principal was not injured. The school constable also assisted with restraining the 17 year old – and the constable was struck in the face – suffering a bruise to the eye. The 17 year old was taken into custody by the school resource officer – he charged with 2nd degree assault, resisting arrest with force, offensive touching and menacing.
