Delmarva was under the gun last night with tornado watches, severe storm watches and warnings and flood warnings as a line of storms moved through last night.  In many areas in New Castle and Kent County – both Maryland and Delaware there were reports of half inch to golf ball sized hail, strong winds with 46 miles per hour gusts were reported in Worcester County and a 47 miles per hour gust was reported at the airport in Salisbury.  The buoy at the Ocean City inlet reported a wind gust of 51 miles per hour.

Southbound Route 1 in Little Heaven saw some minor flooding – DelDOT reports that roadway reopened just before 4:30 this morning.

In Sussex County there were reports of high winds and wires down throughout the county keeping fire crews busy.  There were also scattered power outages – all the outages for Delaware Co-op have been restored.

Two fires broke out during the storms – one just before 11pm in the Lochwood development in Angola – the second about a half hour later on Club House Drive off Old Landing Road in Rehoboth.
