Sprinkler & Pipe Issues Bring Fire Crews to Beebe Medical Center

Fire crews were called to the main campus of Beebe Medical Center in Lewes just before 5pm Sunday. Beebe officials say alarms and sprinklers activated in the west portion of the center on Savannah Road as well as in a building on the north of the campus that isn’t involved in patient care. A broken sprinkler head in the main campus and a water pipe in the other building which caused flooding were the problem. Beebe officials say the parking garage at the main campus is closed until the air is clear – the hospital itself is back to normal operations while they clean up the limited flooding. There were no injuries.
