Somerset County Man Arrested and Charged with Child Porn Possession

The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office says it has arrested and charged 33-year-old James Paul Greenfield, of Eden on numerous counts of child pornography possession and distribution.

Greenfield was arrested on Friday, February 22 at his home in the 14000 block of Sandy Lane in Eden. Authorities have charged Greenfield with 6 counts of promotion and distribution of child pornography, 5 counts of possession of child pornography, 5 counts of  obscene matter publication and distribution, and 5 counts of obscene matter possession with intent to distribute. Officials say the offenses took place between May and August of 2018. 6 of the charges are felonies, while 15 are misdemeanors.

According to Maryland court records, this is not Greenfield’s first run in with the law on similar charges. He was charged with numerous counts of child pornography possession and obscene material publication and distribution in August, 2018.

The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office says Greenfield is being held without bond.
