Social workers now available at libraries in Delaware
January 3, 2018
Social workers are now going to be on duty at libraries throughout Delaware. A new pilot program launched by the Department of Health and Social Services and the Division of Libraries will have 2 social workers visit 7 libraries throughout all three counties weekly to help patrons through online benefits programs, access other agencies, and answer any questions. State Librarian Dr. Annie Norman says people come to libraries every day looking for assistance, and this project “reflects the reality that critical needs have become more pronounced.”
Social workers will be available at 3 library branches in Sussex County:
- Seaford Public Library, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Mondays
- Selbyville Public Library, 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Thursdays
- Frankford Public Library, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Thursdays
