Senator Tom Carper being primaried this Fall

Senator Tom Carper is going to face a primary challenger this year. Yesterday Kerri Harris held a campaign kickoff event in Wilmington to announce her challenge against the longtime Delaware politician. Harris, an Air Force veteran and community activist, is trying to outflank Senator Carper on the Left, advocating for a $15 minimum wage,  universal Pre-K and a single payer healthcare system. Senator Carper has held public office in Delaware since the 1970s. The two are now on a collision course for a September primary, the winner will face Republican candidate Chuck Boyce in the November general election.
