UPDATED: Seaford Firefighters Battle Early Morning Fire, Find Body
UPDATED – 3:25pm – What began as a call for a house fire ended in a murder investigation. Seaford firefighters were called for a house fire on Hastings Farm Road near Seaford. They quickly put out the fire and found a victim inside – dead from an apparent gunshot would. State Police say the 39 year old victim was inside when unknown suspects forced their way in through a side door and fired multiple rounds. The victim was shot once and fell to the living room floor where the suspects set a fire and left. The victim’s body has been turned over to the Division of Forensic Science for autopsy. Police currently have no suspect information.

UPDATED – 8:50am – Delaware State Police are conducting a criminal investigation on Hastings Farm Road – near Coverdale Road near Seaford. Seaford VFC and other firefighters were on the scene of a blaze just before 2 this morning where one person was reportedly injured in a mobile home. The investigation by police and the State Fire Marshal is continuing – police say there is no threat to the safety of the community.
