Scam Attempts To Get Personal Info From Md. Drivers

An attempted scam is targeting Marylanders by falsely sending out an “urgent text” pretending to be from MDOT.
The MDOT Motor Vehicle Administration said the text is not being sent by any agency associated with the state, and that people who receive it should not respond to the link. The message has been addressed to “MDOT Customer.”
The scam attempts have been reported to the MVA IT department.
