Salisbury Man Sentenced for Assault
August 9, 2019
A Salisbury man has pleaded guilty to 1st degree assault and has been sentenced to five years in prison – with all but 18 months suspended. Officials say 19 year old Daniel Ulm has no prior criminal history. His vehicle was spotted in the area of a hit and run last March – and matched the vehicle at fault. Ulm failed to stop for Sheriff’s deputies and led them on a chase through West Salisbury before finally stopping on a dead-end road as stop sticks were deployed behind him. Ulm accelerated towards a sheriff’s deputy who had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit – he fired a shot to try to stop the vehicle, which was later stopped near Strawberry Way.
