Salisbury Bypass Accident Causes Serious Injury
Maryland State Police Troopers say a two vehicle collision on the South Bound span of the Salisbury bypass, south of the Route 50 exit seriously injured a driver.
The incident happened around 11:30 this morning when a 2013 Hyundai Elantra struck the rear bumper of a 1998 Honda Civic. Troopers determined the operator of the Hyundai, 31-year-old Jalissa Rashan Worthy of Salisbury failed to reduce her speed, causing the collision.
Due to the severity of the accident, EMS responded to the scene. A passenger in the Honda required professional care, leading MSP to dispatch their Aviation Command. The injured, Charles Januska of Salisbury was airlifted to University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending. U.S. Route 50 & 13 Bypass was closed for approximately an hour following the crash, but is now reopened.
