UPDATED: Route 54 Crash Near Keenwick Under Investigation

UPDATED 5/3 9:30am – A Selbyville area woman is hospitalized with serious injuries after she was struck by a pickup truck on Route 54 near Salty Way near Keenwick.  Delaware State Police say the 69 year old woman was riding a bicycle in the bicycle lane when she suddenly crossed the roadway in front of the truck.  The driver was unable to avoid the collision and did stop.  The bicycle rider was taken to Christiana Hospital – the driver of the pickup was not injured.  The investigation is continuing.

A pedestrian was struck in the area of Route 54 and Salty Way in the Keenwick area west of Fenwick Island.  The crash occurred just before 2pm.  Emergency personnel from Roxana and county paramedics were on the scene for about 3 hours.  Delaware State Police are investigating.
