Route 54 Bridge Replacement Delayed

Delays with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) due to tidal and navigation issues have pushed back the replacement of the Route 54/Lighthouse Road bridge over the Ditch between the Little Assawoman and Assawoman Bays west of Fenwick Island.

The project was to begin next spring, however construction is now not expected to begin until early 2026 with completion in spring of 2028.
