Route 50 crash results in DUI arrest in Wicomico County

An Edgewater, Maryland man was arrested and charged after police say he drove drunk and struck two other vehicles over the weekend in Wicomico County.

According to Maryland State Police, the incident occurred shortly after 5 p.m., Saturday as troopers were called to respond to a multi-vehicle crash on Route 50 westbound in the area of Forest Grove Road.

Spencer Patrick Schwink, of Edgewater, Maryland struck two vehicles and then fled the scene following the collisions, according to police.

Troopers made contact Schwink and discovered that he was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

Schwink was arrested and transported to Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack for processing.

The other vehicles involved obtained minor damage and no one was injured.
