Route 1 Crash Sends 1 to Hospital with Serious Injuries

A Lewes man is in serious condition after a crash just before 11 Friday night on Coastal Highway at Miller Road in Rehoboth.  Delaware State Police say a pickup truck driven by the 63 year old Lewes man was stopped for the light at Miller Road but then pulled onto Coastal Highway into the path of a tractor trailer driven by a 48 year old Georgetown man.  The tractor trailer had the green light and was not able to stop – the pickup truck rotated partially off the roadway before coming to a stop.  The driver was taken to Beebe Medical Center and later transferred to Christiana Hospital.  The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.  Police say there is no indication of impairment for either driver – the investigation is continuing.
