March 9, 2018
Lawmakers continue to abandon the Delaware General Assembly. The latest to announce retirement is Republican Representative Joe Miro, who represents Pike Creek area in New Castle. Miro was born in Cuba, and fled the Castro regime when he was 15, eventually winding up in Wilmington. After 31-years teaching at Newark High School he made the jump to state politics. The 72-year old has served in the state house for 20 years, says he is most proud of sponsoring a bill to ban texting while driving.
