Rehoboth Public Works Cleanup Sludge Overflow
October 31, 2021/
Rehoboth Beach public works officials report that wastewater sludge overflowed from the city’s wastewater treatment facility late Friday night into Saturday morning. The overflow was discovered around 8 Saturday morning – it is the result of the heavy rainfall and ongoing construction at the treatment facility. Officials vacuumed up about 4000 gallons Saturday and applied lime to the impacted ground area. More lime will be applied today. The ground and marsh adjacent to the wastewater treatment facility were impacted by the overflow.
