Raccoon On Eastern Shore Tests Positive For Rabies

A raccoon tests positive for rabies in Somerset County.

The health department says the raccoon came into contact with a person in Westover, and positive test results were received Wednesday.

Citizens are advised to follow vaccination requirements for pets and livestock, and to report any wildlife that is acting strangely or appears to be sick. Also, secure your garbage cans, and do not feed stray animals or wildlife.
