UPDATED: Police Identify Shooting Victim in Lincoln

UPDATED – 7/23/19 – 11am – Delaware State Police have releaesed the name of the man who was shot and killed on Wednesday, July 10 in Lincoln. Police say 35 year old Brian Chirdon was taken to Christiana Hospital where he later died from his injury. Police continue to investigate. The shooting occurred at a home on Winner Circle in Lincoln. Delaware State Police are investigating the death of a man in Lincoln on Wednesday evening.

Their investigation revealed the incident happened around 8:26 p.m. in the 15000 block of Winner Circle in Lincoln. Troopers located a 34-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Sussex Bayhealth Hospital in Milford, and later transferred to Christiana Hospital where he succumbed to his injury. His name will not be released until notification of next of kin.

The investigation is in it’s early stages and State Police have not released a suspect description at this time. Officials stress there is no concern of the public’s safety.
