Pittsville Woman Dies After Struck by Car Sunday

A crash Sunday afternoon on Gumboro Road has left a Pittsville woman dead. Maryland State Police continue to investigate, but say 56 year old Barbara Parker was at her mailbox when a car crossed the center line and struck her. The car, driven by 60 year old Anthony Mumford of Millsboro came to a stop in a ditch. Passersby helped Mumford and his passenger out of the car and began CPR on Parker, who was taken to PRMC in Salisbury with life-threatening injuries and died a short time later. Charges are pending.
