UPDATED: Pedestrian Struck Saturday Night on Coastal Hwy in Ocean City Dies from Injuries
UPDATED 12/31: Ocean City Police tell WGMD that 56 year old Lorena Merris of Landisburg, Pennsylvania was struck by a BMW 328i Saturday night on Coastal Highway has died. Police say she died from her injuries Sunday afternoon. The driver of the BMW remained on-scene.

Ocean City police and EMS were called just before 9 last night for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle near the intersection of 28th Street and Coastal Highway. Police tell WGMD the victim is a 56 year old woman from Pennsylvania who was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. Police are still investigating, but say alcohol is not a factor regarding the driver of the vehicle and the pedestrian was in the immediate area of the crosswalk. Traffic was diverted to Baltimore Avenue for about two hours.
