PA Man Arrested after Leading Ocean View Police on Chase

Ocean View Police have arrested a man who eluded police Tuesday after officers tried to stop him Tuesday for a flagged registration. The driver, 46 year old Joseph Cook of Pennsylvania, led police on a chase into Bethany Beach where he stopped – then bumped the Ocean View officer with his car – and drove off again before he abandoned the car and ran off on foot. Police arrested him early Wednesday morning at a home in Ocean View after learning that Tuesday Cook had been sentenced in Pennsylvania to 9 months probation on DUI charges. Cook is being held in default of a cash bond.
