One Person Dead Following Fatal Millsboro Crash

Delaware State Police say they are investigating after a person died following a single vehicle crash that occurred in Millsboro on Wednesday.

Troopers say the incident occurred just after 3:30 p.m. when a 2014 Chevy Equinox was traveling eastbound on Lowes Crossing Road, just east of Pear Tree Road. They say for unknown reasons, the vehicle exited the roadway and struck a large standing tree.

The driver, an 80-year-old female from Millsboro was properly restrained. She was transported to PRMC in Salisbury where she was later pronounced dead. Her name is being withheld until the notification of next of kin.

The crash remains under investigation by the DSP Collision Reconstruction Unit. Lowes Crossing Road was closed for around 3 hours while authorities investigated and cleared the crash site.
