Ocean Downs Qualifies For Sports Betting License

Ocean Downs Casino in Worcester County has been approved for a sports wagering license.

The action was announced Thursday by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Commission. Hollywood Casino in Perryville also received approval for a sports betting license. Since Maryland voters approved sports wagering and the General Assembly passed the relevant law, five licenses for sports betting have been approved.

“With Marylanders looking forward to betting on the NFL and March Madness, we now expect the legislature’s Sports Wagering Applicant Review Commission to swiftly approve these licenses,” Governor Larry Hogan said Thursday in a statement.
