Ocean City Woman Convicted of Theft
An Ocean City woman has been convicted of theft. The Worcester County State’s Attorney says 45 year old Jennifer Zadnick – aka Jennifer Snider – was involved in a fundraiser for the Ocean Pines Fire Department. She was hired to host a quarter auction at the Ocean Pines Yacht Club last April. Guests and Fire Department officials grew suspicious when certain bid numbers were drawn far more frequently than others – and that Zadnick’s son held the winning numbers. Ocean Pines Police determined that Zadnick had duplicated her son’s bid numbers on multiple chips to make it more likely that he would win. The total value of the auction items stolen by Zadnick through the rigged bidding scheme was $530. Zadnick will be sentenced on December 20 – giving her time to pay the $530 in restitution to the Ocean Pines Fire Department. She faces 6-months in jail.
