Ocean City man killed after car collided with scooter on Route 50

An Ocean City man has died after a car collided with a motor scooter on Route 50.

According to Maryland State Police, the crash occurred around 8:30 p.m., Tuesday on Route 50, just west of Ocean City, when a 2015 Chevy Cruz, operated by Regan P. Marti, of Goshen, Connecticut struck a 2003 People Scooter that was in the process of making a U-Turn onto the eastbound direction of the highway.

The man driving the scooter, identified as 20-year-old Caleb S. Clark was transported to Baltimore Shock Trauma following the crash. On Wednesday, he died as a result of his injuries and his body has since been turned over to the Chief Medical Examiners Office.

Route 50 was closed for an hour following the crash. The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Highway, and Ocean City Fire & EMS assisted with the investigation.
