OC Officials Break Ground for 10 Megawatt Solar Energy Project
August 24, 2018
Constellation has broken ground for a 10 megawatt solar energy project that will account for about 20% of the Town of Ocean City’s annual energy use. The solar array will provide energy for some of the resort’s main buildings – including City Hall, the Roland E. Powell Convention Center and the water plant. The solar array will be located outside of the city on 113 acres of land – near the intersection of Routes 50 and 90. Ocean City will receive nearly 6-million kilowatt-hours of electricity from the project – and a lower energy rate which will save resort taxpayers an expected $120,000 per year.
