OC Brothers Charged in Cigarette Trafficking Operation in NY

Two Ocean City men have been charged with criminal tax fraud, money laundering and conspiracy for their involvement in a cigarette trafficking operation that ran between Virginia and Kings County, New York.  47 year old Basel Ramadan and his 45 year old brother, Samir were charged in Kings County Supreme Court in New York.  Earlier this month federal, state and local officials raided the brothers West Ocean City homes and seized over $312,000 in cash, 3 handguns, a shotgun, 3 vehicles and over 341,000 untaxed cigarettes from a storage location in Brooklyn.  A third man from Brooklyn was included in the 21 count indictment.
