An Ocean City BikeFest promoter has been charged with fraud in Florida. According to OC Today, Chase Micheal is accused of passing more than $500,000 worth of bad checks and turned himself in to the Bay County Sheriff’s office in Panama City. Sheriff’s Officials report that Micheal is charged with 22 counts of fraud following his 2022 purchase of Panama City鈥檚 Thunder Beach motorcycle rally and then allegedly issued over $538,000 in worthless checks. He reportedly tried to build up the event by bringing in big name recording acts as he had done for his OC BikeFest/Delmarva Bike Week productions. Ocean City officials say their contract was with OC Jams LLC and Micheal’s mother was the point of contact. While the Town of Ocean City monitors the situation, they say all payments due and requirements under the contract have been fulfilled.
