Norfolk, VA Man Dies After Crash Involving Maryland State Trooper Earlier This Month Wicomico County

The Maryland State Police is investigating a fatal crash that involved a Maryland State Trooper. Shortly after 3:00 p.m. yesterday, hospital personnel at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center pronounced 73-year-old Daniel Clark of Norfolk, Virginia dead. Clark was a motorist who had been injured in the crash. The crash occurred at 7:30 a.m. on March 6th in Wicomico County. Clark was the driver of a Honda Ridgeline pickup truck. The second injured motorist is identified as 34-year-old Mark Adkins of Salisbury. Adkins was the driver of a 2007 Honda Accord. He was transported by ambulance to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital in Salisbury for treatment of injuries he sustained in the crash.
Based on an earlier report, the trooper struck the Honda Ridgeline pickup truck which caused a chain reaction and subsequently crashed into the Honda Accord. The trooper involved is identified as Corporal Kevin Moore, a 15-year veteran of the Maryland State Police. He is assigned to the Field Operations Bureau and is currently on restricted duty. The Maryland State Police is committed to conducting a complete and impartial investigation of this crash. Once completed, the crash investigation will be provided to the Wicomico County State鈥檚 Attorney鈥檚 Office for review.
