New Traffic Pattern Begins Next Week on Route 1 at Route 16 in Milton for Northbound Drivers

DelDOT is alerting all drivers to a change in the traffic pattern for Route 1 Northbound at Route 16 beginning next week. On Tuesday, May 30th through Wednesday, May 31st DelDOT will shift Route 1 northbound beginning at 7pm Tuesday into Wednesday (weather permitting).
During the switch motorists can expect lane closures on Route 1 northbound and lane closures on Route 16 eastbound and westbound. After the switch, Route 1 northbound traffic will drive along the new ramp road to accommodate construction of the new grade separated interchange. Route 1 southbound traffic will continue to be maintained along existing Route 1 southbound at this time.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and use caution while driving in the area.
