New Police Chief Coming to South Bethany

South Bethany has a new Chief of Police.  Last week the town council ratified the appointment of Jason Lovins – he will join the police department in early June.  Lovins comes from Kentucky where he served with the Kentucky State Police – retiring after 19 years with the rank of Detective Sergeant.  He then worked with the Scott County Sheriff’s Department in Georgetown, Kentucky for 2 years before moving to Delaware, where he’s worked with the Dewey Beach Police for the past three years.
