New Phase Of Georgetown East Gateway Project Starts June 12th

The next phase of the Georgetown East Gateway improvements project will begin later this month.
According to DelDOT, a portion of Airport Road between Route 9 and Sterling Avenue will close Saturday June 12th at 6:00 a.m. It is expected to reopen Friday August 27th, depending on weather conditions, in time for the new school year.
Last month, part of Route 9 east of Georgetown was closed for about three weeks. DelDOT said Airport Road in the area will be realigned to intersect with Route 9 at a better angle.
Detour: US 9/East Market Street/ Lewes-Georgetown Highway to South King Street to Airport Road.
