MSP Make Arrest in Cold Case Murder of ECI Corrections Officer

In June of 2001 Maryland Correctional Officer from ECI in Somerset County never made it home from work. Gregory Collins of Vienna, Maryland was found in his car, which went off into a wooded area on Indiantown Road near Vienna. Collins had been shot. Maryland State Police have made an arrest in Collins’ murder. A Dorchester County Grand Jury handed down an indictment Friday morning charging 46 year old John Ingersoll of East New Market with 1st and 2nd degree murder and other offenses. Ingersoll is being held in the Dorchester County Detention Center.
