UPDATED: MSP Arrest Suspect in Fatal Berlin Hit & Run

UPDATED – 5-10   3:30PMMaryland State Police have arrested 59 year old Jonathan Kidder of Berlin in connection with a hit and run crash that left a man dead.  Police say Kidder turned himself in Thursday morning.  He is charged with negligent automotive homicide under the influence of alcohol and other offenses.  Just after 10pm Sunday Kidder struck a bicycle ridden by 38 year old Jose Pineda of Berlin – he was pronounced dead at Atlantic General Hospital.  Kidder left the scene – and minutes later was involved in another crash which he ran away from.  Police linked Kidder to both crashes from debris at both scenes.  Kidder is being held without bond.

UPDATED – TUESDAY:  Maryland State Police continue to search for 59 year old Jonathan Kidder in connection with a hit and run crash that left a Berlin man dead.  Police believe Kidder is traveling on foot.  Police have identified the victim as 38 year old Eduardo Madrid of Berlin.  He was struck by vehicle just after 10pm on Sunday in the area of Racetrack and Gum Point Roads in Berlin.

A hit and run on Racetrack Road near Gum Point Road has left one man dead.  Maryland State Police say a man riding a bicycle was struck just after 10 Sunday night – he was

pronounced dead at Atlantic General Hospital.  Police have identified a person of interest and are looking for 59 year old Jonathan Kidder of Berlin for questioning in connection with this crash.  The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
