UPDATED: MSP & Cambridge PD Arrest 2 in Deadly Shooting Oct 20 in Cambridge

UPDATED – 10/28/24 – Maryland State Police with help from Cambridge Police have arrested two teens in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday, October 20 in the area of Pine Street and Dunns Court in Cambridge. Police have arrested 18 year old Jo’Mir Omar Norman and 15 year old Brian Wongus, Jr. – both of Cambridge and charged each with 1st degree murder. They are being held at the Dorchester County Detention Center without bond.
Further investigation showed that police were called around 7pm on Sunday, October 20 for a reported shooting and located the victim, 26 year old Virgil Simms of Cambridge, on the sidewalk at the intersection of Pine Street and Dunns Court in Cambridge. Police say Simms suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is continuing and police ask anyone with information on this incident to call 443-783-7230.
