Motorcycle crash claims 2 lives near Parsonsburg

Two are dead following a serious motorcycle crash near Parsonsburg, Maryland.

According to Maryland State Police, shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday, troopers from the Salisbury responded to Route 346 at Broad Street in Parsonsburg for a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.

Troopers arrived and learned that a 2017 Harley Davidson, driven by 24-year-old Joseph Shane Hill of Salisbury, and a 24-year-old passenger, Deanna Melton of Parsonsburg, was travelling westbound on Rt. 346 in Parsonsburg, Maryland.

As the motorcycle approached Broad Street, the driver lost control of the bike which left the road. Both occupants were ejected and died on scene.

Maryland State Police Reconstructionist responded to conduct the investigation.

The roadway was shutdown for approximately 3 hours.
