=================================================

A crash on Route 9 at Josephs Road west of Lewes just before 8 Tuesday morning has left one person dead.  Delaware State Police say a Ford Transit van driven by a 50 year old man from Milton was eastbound on Route 9 when the driver crossed the center line into the path of a box truck.  The driver of the box truck, a 56 year old Milford man, tried to avoid the crash but was not able.  The box truck rotated from the impact and ended up on its side.  The driver of the transit van was taken to Beebe Hospital where he was pronounced dead from injuries he received in the crash – it’s not known if he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.  The driver of the box truck was properly belted and treated for non-life threatening injuries.  Police say speed and impairment do not appear to be factors for either driver.  The investigation is continuing and police ask anyone with information to contact Cpl J Burns at 302-703-3266
