Millsboro man pistol-whipped, robbed outside his home

Police are searching for the suspect who pistol-whipped and robbed a man in the front yard of his home in Millsboro.

According to the Delaware State Police Department, around 10 p.m., Monday troopers were dispatched to a home in the 31000 block of Karen Street in Millsboro for reports of a robbery.

Troopers arrived and met with a 59-year-old man who said that while he was outside in his front yard, he was approached by an unknown suspect who pulled out a handgun and struck him with it, causing him to fall to the ground.

The suspect then demanded the victim empty his pockets, according to police. He stole the victim’s wallet, cell phone, and keys prior to fleeing the scene.

Shortly after the incident, the victim’s bank card was utilized at the Exxon in Seaford.

The victim was not injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as an African American man in his late 20’s, approximately 5’08” tall, 175 lbs., with a full beard, and wearing all dark clothing.
