Milford Doctor Indicted in National Healthcare Fraud Investigation

A national healthcare fraud investigation results in charged against 601 individuals responsible for over $2-billion in fraud losses – including a Milford doctor. US Attorneys for the District of Delaware say Patrick Titus, a doctor and owner of Lighthouse Internal Medicine was indicted on 14 counts of unlawful distribution and dispensing of controlled substances and 1 count of maintaining a drug-involved premise. The prescription monitoring Program reports that from July 2012 to December 2014 Titus wrote over 25,000 prescriptions for over 2-million dosage units of Oxycodone products – most prescribed outside of the usual course of professional practice and not for a legitimate medical purpose.
