Middle School Teacher Arrested on Sex Charges

Harrington Police say a 63-year-old Felton man has been arrested for inappropriate sexual touching of students at WT Chipman Middle School.

Richard C. Ford of Felton turned himself in on July 12th. In January, officers were contacted by a parent who said her daughter had been inappropriately touched by Ford, a teacher at WT Chipman Middle during a fitness class. The investigation uncovered that there were two additional victims who were students in Ford’s class, an 11 and 12 year-old.

Ford was charged with two counts of Unlawful Sexual Contact where Victim is under 13, two counts of Second Degree Sexual Abuse of a Child by a Person of Trust and one count of Offensive Touching. He was arraigned and issued a 10,100 dollar unsecured bond and a no contact order with the victims. Ford was released pending a future court appearance.
