Memorial Service Honors Fallen Del. Troopers

Delaware State Police will conduct the annual Memorial Service and Wreath-Laying Ceremony today in Dover. The service is scheduled to take place at 9:30 a.m. (Wednesday) at the Delaware State Police Training Academy, 1441 North DuPont Highway.

24 troopers have lost their lives in the line of duty since 1923. Fellow troopers, family members, relatives and friends will gather to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Speakers will include Governor John Carney, Lieutenant Governor Bethany Hall-Long, Attorney General Kathy Jennings, Safety and Homeland Security Secretary Nathaniel McQueen Junior, DSP Superintendent Col. Melissa Zebley, Delaware State Troopers Association President Sergeant Tony Pezzuto, and President of Delaware Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) Eleanor Allione.
