Maryland State Police Release Memorial Day Enforcement Report

Maryland State Police say their Memorial Day weekend enforcement included thousands of traffic stops and over 100 DUI arrests and nearly 300 total arrests.
Troopers say they responded to 5,754 calls for service, conducted 6,353 traffic stops, made 107 DUI arrests and 268 total arrests. They issued 1,201 speeding citations, 203 seat belt citations, 3,064 additional citations and 4,072 warnings.
Troopers responded to 217 crashes, eight of which were fatal, at least two of which were on Route 50 in Wicomico County. The Maryland Department of Transportation had previously said they anticipated nearly 1 million Marylanders to travel over the Memorial Day weekend.
