Marydel Man Charged after Shooting Incident in Hartly
A shooting investigation near Hartly has resulted in the arrest of a 20 year old Marydel man. Several roommates and friends were at a residence on Myers Drive in Hartly when Michael Rhinehardt started a fight and grabbed a firearm – firing multiple rounds. Rhinehardt’s girlfriend confronted him and he became angrier and he told everyone to leave – although Rhinehardt doesn’t live at the residence. As Rhinehardt left – firing several shots hitting the floor and wall – one of the victims wrestled with him over the gun – taking it from him and striking Rhinehardt in the head and face. The weapon was thrown into a wooded area – Rhinehardt grabbed an ax and swung that at two of the victims who were leaving the house. A family member took Rhinehardt to a local hospital – no one at the house was injured. Rhinehardt is charged with possession of a firearm, 5 counts of felony 1st degree reckless endangering and aggravated menacing. He’s being held at SCI in default of $80,000 secured bond.
