Man Struck, Killed After Getting Out Of Pickup Truck Following Accident

A 61-year-old Hurclock man has died of injuries suffered in an accident on Maryland Route 16, south of Route 392 in Dorchester County (East New Market).
According to Maryland State Police, troopers responded to the scene Saturday night and found three vehicles had been involved in an accident, and two injured people were lying in a ditch.
A preliminary investigation indicates that both of the victims were in a pickup truck that slid off the road into a ditch. An SUV stopped at the scene and another vehicle struck it from behind, sending the SUV into a ditch. Police believe the car slid off the roadway and struck the two people who got out of the pickup truck.
Loc Van Trang of Hurlock died at a local hospital. His wife is being treated for injuries suffered in the crash. There were no other reported injuries.
The crash is under investigation, and no charges have been filed. A preliminary investigation indicates that weather was a contributing circumstance in the crash.
