A Harbeson man is under arrest for aggravated menacing, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, criminal trespass and ‘drunk on a highway.’

Delaware State Police said Thursday that troopers were called the previous night to the 21,000-block of Harbeson Road. An investigation determined that a man and a woman in their 60s heard a knock at their front door. The woman discovered a man standing on the front porch, who said he ‘knew how to get in,’ then left.

Police said 43-year-old Russel Leibensperger went to the back door and knocked, as he held a knife in his hand. He then ran from the home, and was later seen leaving a wooded area walking along Harbeson Road where he was arrested.

According to State Police, Leibensperger was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $67,300 cash bond.
