A Magnolia, Delaware man has been sentenced to 13 years in prison after he was convicted on charges of possession with the intent to distribute a fake controlled dangerous substance, possession of a non-controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited. According to court papers, 30 year old Quaire Johnson of Magnolia was in a vehicle stopped for a traffic top on Route 113 near Bishopville in 2021 and deputies smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle turned up 234 wax folds of suspected heroin-fentanyl, trace amounts of marijuana, a loaded pistol, ammunition and firearm magazines.

Lab tests on the suspected heroin-fentanyl mixture turned out to not be a CDS.

Johnson was arrested and charged.
