Lincoln Man Arrested for Assault & Kidnapping

UPDATED – 12/3/18 – A Lincoln man has been arrested for assault and other offenses after he held his girlfriend and their 1 year old against their will on Sunday. Police were called to West Clogg Drive for a domestic early Sunday morning and found a woman trying to get out of the house – she told police that her boyfriend, 32 year old Emmanuel Vazquez-Gomez was inside with their child and armed with a knife. For some time he refuse to leave, but eventually he surrendered and was arrested. Police learned that he threatened to kill the victim and had held her and their son for much of the day. The victim did receive multiple cuts – and was treated at a local hospital – the child was not injured. Vazquez-Gomez is charged with 2 counts year of kidnapping, 1st degree assault and other offenses and is being held in default of a secured bond.

ORIGINAL STORY: A road closure in the Milford area is over. Delaware State Police were investigating a domestic situation on Fitzgeralds Road early this morning. Police tell WGMD they continue to investigate – however Fitzgeralds Road was reopened just before 7am and there is no concern for public safety.
