Lewes PD Arrest Lincoln Man on Gun Charges
Lewes Police continue to investigate a shooting incident at the Jefferson Apartments in August. On September 15th Lewes police saw a white Mazda leave the complex around 8:30pm and stopped the vehicle for a traffic violation. While talking with the driver, the passenger, later identified as 23 year old Jefferson Ramirez-Rodriquez of Lincoln, ran from the vehicle into a wooded area just south of Dartmouth Road. Police spotted him removing a handgun, but lost sight of him in the woods. Maryland State Police aviation helped to search and using nighttime heat seeking technology Ramirez-Rodriquez was located and arrested.
Police also found a semi-automatic handgun and 2 loaded magazines nearby. Ramirez-Rodriquez is charged with:
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Resisting Arrest
Ramirez-Rodriquez is being held at SCI in default of $30,500 bail.
