Lewes Man Charged with Aggravated Menacing after Incident in Rehoboth Beach
A Lewes man has been arrested after an incident at a Rehoboth Beach hotel Sunday night. Delaware State Police were called to the Inn at Rehoboth Beach on Airport Road just before 8:30 and were contacted by a 31 year old man who told them that he was in the parking lot with his 4 year old son and 7 month old daughter when a man approached them with a knife and threatened to kill him. Troopers found the man – identified as 51 year old Theodore Guajardo of Lewes – across the street with the knife sheathed on his hip.
Guajardo was taken into custody and taken to Troop 7 where he was charged with the following crimes:
- Aggravated Menacing (Felony)
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited (Felony)
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child – 2 counts
Guajardo was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $5,550 secured bond.
